Description
A very desirable Great Northern Railway 8inch mahogany cased English fusee railway clock, supplied to the GNR around 1870 by John Walker of London. The original dial was re-written with the existing details in the early 1900’s when Stockall took over the London Area contract from Walkers. In very good condition with sensitive light restoration implemented to exacting standards by DR D. R. Parr and reads ‘G.N.R 520 – JJ STOCKALL & SONS LTD, LONDON’. Solid mahogany back box with dovetail construction. Single piece turned mahogany dial surround. Bottom door retains working lock with key. English fusee movement with turned and tapered pillars.
