Frank Hornby the maker of Meccano, introduced 'O' gauge clockwork trains in 1920 using his own name, manufactured by the Meccano works in Liverpool. With a track gauge of 32mm the hand assembled models are metal with attractively printed tinplate bodies. The handmade characteristic red cardboard storage boxes add to the appeal of these delightful early railway toys.
