55G Steam Locomotive Shed Plate_SOLD

Steam locomotive cast iron shed plate 55G – Huddersfield Millhouse MPD 1957 – 1967. An attractive plate in good ex-locomotive condition, with painted details to the rear indicating originated from steam locomotive WD 2.8.0. No.90694. This loco was withdrawn from 55G on 21.01.1967 and scrapped by T. W. Ward, Killamarsh.
It has been pointed out by one of our customers that this plate has received an in-service welding modification changing the cast letter C (Farnley Jct, Leeds) to the letter G represented here. We suspect this the actions of a diligent shed master overcoming the shortage of relevant shed plates towards the end of the steam era.
